Update!

Mom made it through surgery and is recovering. YAY! When she asked for her knitting, I knew she would be fine. She is still in the hospital. We're just waiting for the insurance to decide when to send her home (don't get me started on insurance companies).

I am going to my parents' home to clean, do laundry and cook a few meals today. My sister will be there to help.

I have started quite a few sock projects during my hospital visits so pictures will be coming soon. Don't ask why I didn't finish any socks. I have no idea why I didn't take socks to finish but chose instead to start new pairs. I'm running out of dpns around here. I think that's a sign to finish a pair isn't it? LOL

Yay! Glad to hear your mom's okay. And if starting socks makes you happy, so be it. We'll send more dpns. What sizes?

I'm lol because it was when MY mom asked for her knitting that I knew she was calming down and "okay" with things when she went in to the hospital (Aug '07) and was eventually diagnosed with colon cancer.

Glad to hear your Mom is doing well... and I second that insurance crap!

Man are you off to a sucky year. I'm happy that mom did ok with the surgery. Breaking bones when you are over a certain age is terrible. Hopefully she'll heal well and be back to herself in no time at all.

I'm glad that your mom's surgery went well & she is doing better. And I'm extremely glad that your sister is going to help you at the house!!!! ;)

And I'm with Chan, if you need more dpns let me know, I hate the dang things & have a zillion of them if you want them! :)

So glad her surgery went well! And I agree with Chan, btw. ;) I'm about to cast on for a pair when I know there are perfectly good WIPs that need to be worked on. le sigh.

Sis--Mom cannot get to her projects so she is rearranging stash. You forgot to blog what the "other" sister has done. What was that "nothing?" I guess some things never change LOL. I am unable to start any more socks---I just discovered I only have 2 pair of size 2 circulars {my preference with socks} And NO you will not get any of my needles. LOl Have to go to yarn store tomorrow if truck knobs are not frozen shut

Glad to hear mom is fine. Your family is seriously under some ill luck. Are you sure that certain relative of yours hasn't hexed you?
I hope your luck improves.
I can understand the need to knit something and who cares if you don't finish them right away? It will give you something to come back and work on.
