It's a Knitting Jungle

I've wanted an excuse to make this adorable little elephant for quite some time. The pattern is easy and the result is too cute for words. I used two balls of Peaches and Creme yarn in the color Fiesta.
Meet Miss Ellie. She's ready for some hugs and kisses.








This is the Lacy Baktus. Quite the rage in blogland and Ravelry. Normally I choose the pattern then the yarn but this time the yarn chose the pattern.

I spun this from a small amount of roving that was purchased at the MD Sheep & Wool Festival a year or so ago. It's been sitting very prettily in a basket begging to be knit.

I called it Winter Birds because it reminds me of the birds hiding out in the trees during the winter storm.

I can't rave enough about this pattern. Love, love love it from start to finish.
Looks like everyone is getting a Baktus for next Christmas :).

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. It's snowing!!
The best Christmas present for me would to be snowed in on Christmas Day. One year we had 6 inches of snow on Christmas Day and I insisted we all go on the deck in our pj's with hot chocolate and admire God's handiwork. The children politely obliged until they were shivering and whining. LOL
Hey! They haven't forgotten that Christmas Morn.




Santa Paws is very aware of Mr. Bettis on the naughty screen in his workshop.
We left last evening for a brief time and this is what greeted us at the door. He was so happy to meet us that you would've thought we left him for weeks. Little did we realize it was only to disguise what he was up to while we were gone.










Potatoes were strewn everywhere. I found this lonely potato in the middle of the floor. I'm sure he had a hayday tossing and playing. He never eats them.














My dye stuff was sitting on the floor in a box. A closed box and I found it destroyed on the floor. Thank goodness I don't keep my dyes in there or I'm sure we'd be at the vet office right now.

Mr. Beau and Miss Sissy have warned Mr. Bettis several times that Santa Paws is watching but apparently Mr. Bettis is not interested in new toys and treats. He seems to find his own.

Just when I think he's going to behave and be good, whammy!

Murphy's Law

Remember Matilda? Well it's Murphy's Law. Everything comes in threes. Keep in mind the DH is away two nights a week now. Of course all of this happens while he is away.

The dryer is broken.

The DD went to get in her car this morning. Wouldn't start. The bus already went so she took the other car. I hope this is the end of stuff breaking around here. If it wasn't for spending money to fix the stuff, I'd buy yarn to soothe my woes:) However, I do have Mr. Bettis and his on-going antics.


See this toy? The dogs recieved this in their stocking last year. When squeezed it plays "O Christmas Tree." Mr. Bettis had the toy for the first time. There's no way it would look this good if he had it from last year.

He was having a good ole' time. Until..........it started playing music. He jumped back and ran with his tail tucked. Cracks me up. I think I'll keep this toy around just to keep him in line:).






When it finished singing it's tune he came back to investigate. He's sniffing and checking it out here. The pink towel is supposed to keep him off the love seat. You can see how well that works.






Look what I finished! YAY! Music mitts for the daughter. They're in her school colors and I think she's going to love them. The yarn is Kraemer Sterling/Silver fingering yarn. I dyed the red skein. They were fun and I enjoyed knitting them.
I just hope her friends in the band don't decide they each need a pair.
I'll teach them to knit if they do:)

p.s. It's raining. Translation? A broken dryer, wet clothes and well?....it's beginning to look like the Beverly Hillbillies around here with wet laundry hanging throughout the house LOL.
