Sisterhood

I am blessed to have a sister who is my best friend. I'm also very blessed to have friends who are like sisters. This post is an honorable mention to my sister.

The mailman dropped a package in my mailbox on Saturday. I certainly was not expecting anything and immediately thought it was sent to the wrong person. So I sighed and opened it to look for an invoice to return the package.
Instead of an invoice, I found a beautifully written card from my sister.

A beautiful skein of green yarn and stitch markers fell from the box. The yarn is so soft and is begging to be knit into a shawl.

The stitch markers look like little balls of yarn and are housed in their own little pocket. Aren't they cute? This gift brought a tear and a smile.
Believe it or not, my sister and I were not friends in our younger days but as the years wore on we have become best friends. We can give each other a "look" and know exactly what the other is thinking.

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child." (wink) ~Barbara Alpert
Thank you sis for not only being my sister but also for being my best friend.

Hey! I have those stitch markers somewhere too... Love that yarn. Three cheers for great sisters, the ones we're born with and the ones we find along the way.
