Hot & Getting Hotter

It's hot here. Supposed to get to 100 degrees here. Factor the humidity level and the heat index will be over 110. Whew! On to other news.

This little bunny has been named, Mr. Bunny Foo. He arrives every morning at 6 am to disturb Mr. Bettis. He sits within feet of the fence and grazes on nice fresh clover. I swear this little rabbit does it on purpose. Mr. Bettis then finds it necessary to bark. And bark. And bark. Mind you, it is 6 am. Not-a-good-thing. I am an animal person, so rabbit stew is out of the question. I just wish Mr. Bettis would stop barking and let him graze. Mr. Bunny Foo is unfazed by Mr. Bettis. Smart Rabbit.

Did I mention that it is hot? The afghan is in hibernation. Too hot on my lap to knit. So I'm knitting on little projects. Thank goodness for socks. I have frogged this sock 3 times.
I guess swatching a gauge would have actually helped.

I ordered yarn 2 weeks ago. I received all 5 boxes of goodies. Yes 5. Yarn Goodies from all over the place.
Lo and behold another box arrived. Uh-oh! I don't remember ordering yarn from Webs. I opened the box and it was to die for, 9 skeins of Comfort yarn. In my color. I was in love.
Oh my gosh I thought, maybe I did order it. I was so busy ordering from everywhere that maybe I actually did order from Webs. (what does that tell you about my yarn ordering habit?)
I dug through the box. Nope. Not mine. Belonged to a knitter in NY. So I called Webs. They suggested I send it back. I stammered and asked if I could keep it. The sales lady laughed and said yes and they would give it to me at the sale price and deduct the shipping. Woo-Hoo! This stuff was mine. All mine. I did ask if they had enough to send to the poor knitter -in- waiting. She assured me there was plenty for the other knitter. So I have cast on for a sweater for self.

This is where the DD will be spending this afternoon. She has a half day of school today and tomorrow.

It was too hot to head to the pool over the weekend. I suppose it seemed like a good idea at the time, but the inlaws' pool is in direct sun, morning to night.

Sissy seems to sense animals in our yard too, at some rather inconvenient hours.

It's hot here too! Yuck! What happened to spring?!

Lovely luck on the yarn from Webs! What a great color! I knit a pair of fingerless mitts out of Comfort and I LOVED them! Can't wait to see what you make out of it.

ROTFL!!! I can't believe you got to keep the yarn! You silly woman. Some poor knitter in NY is probably wondering where her yarn went. *cough, cough* ;-)

That pool looks heavenly. The closest we get is the little kiddie pool in the backyard. LOL

I can't believe you kept the yarn! Well.... I guess I can. LOL

Hot here too! Too hot! You should try knitting a dishcloth in the pool, at least it won't hurt it if it gets wet. :P I'd be living in that pool myself!

It is hot here too, I am convinced we have just 2 seasons here now: Summer and not summer. I don't know what to callthe other seasone because it is reall too warm for fall but not cold or snowy enough for winter, adn we just don't have spring at all.

hmmmm a gauge swatch???? is that important?

Let me know how that yarn knits up. I have been looking at it....

Have fun in the pool and yes REMEMBER the sun screen.

It is so hot here that I have been rolling down my coolaroo sun shades on the back porch to keep my family room cool and dark. They have more than paid for themselves. Now if only it would rain, that would be heaven.
I would love to crawl into my pool but, right now, I would drown since I have no energy for anything, not even knitting! Gasp, horror upon horror. Nice yarn score!
That is a sweet bunny and you know he is laughing at that stupid dog! He knows that dog can't get at him...

Too funny about the bonus yarn! How fun that you got to keep it after all. :)

You must be near me...we had temps up to 98 today...ugh! I'm currently sitting here under the ceiling fan trying to stay cool and waiting for the impending thunderstorms...it's getting very dark out there...!
