Surprise!!!!!

Finally! It's opening day. Not really. We opened the box a few days ago but I haven't had time to post. We're packing the new college freshman. But that's for a later post.

Chan sent the package to DD and me, so I not so patiently waited to open it with her.

First was the little treat package for Mr. Bettis & Co from the fur-girls.
It said, " For Mr. B & the fur girls at our house! Slobbery kisses
Sissy & Gretchen"
Aren't they just the sweeteset fur girls? Oh, you too, Chan :).
Mr. B & Co sends slobbery kisses right back.

Next were these wonderful tea mugs from Aladdin. We've never seen anything like them. I told the DD she had first choice in color and she chose the purple one. She drinks a lot of tea and as she put it, "this will be perfect when I'm running to class."

The lid comes off to reveal where to put the tea leaves. The lever at the bottom drops it into the hot water of the mug to be brewed. This is absolutely ingenious. We love it, Chan.

She dove into the box to find boxes and tins of flavored teas. Scrumptous teas like Blueberry, Pineapple Mango, Twinings assortment, Pink Lady Green, Golden Breakfast and many more. Every one of them drew oooohhhhhs and aaaaahhhhhhs from us as we pulled them from the package.
The theme of the gift is to have a mother/daughter tea party although we do not live close, Chan is going to us at our tea party. Feel free to grab a cup of your favorite beverage and join us.
There was a beautiful card handmade by Chan which is packed and moving with the DD. She wants to mount it on her dorm wall.

Chan, this is a very thoughtful gift and we are enjoying it immensely. Thank you so very much! HUGS:)

Green Acres

This one is picture-less. And you thought you were going to see something green:).
We traveled 2 1/2 hours to the city for another dr appointment. Oh yippee!! (I say that with tongue in cheek)
I DO NOT like the city. May I repeat, I. DO. NOT. like. the. city. Please don't take offense to my dislike of the city. I have relatives and friends who live in the city and they LOVE it. It's just not me. Quite frankly you couldn't pay me enough to live there. Country living is my way of life. Give me those Green Acres, it's the place I want to be. (you'll never get that song out of your head now, will you?)

It rained. Well of course, it rained. We have only seen the big yellow ball in the sky for 4 days out of 2 weeks. It has peeped out a few times between rain showers but that's been rare.

Traffic was a nightmare and rain seems to make some city drivers drive as though they're in the Indy 500 or as if they're on a Sunday sight seeing tour.

Parking is absolutely unheard of. Now I must ask, with all those buildings where in the world do they expect people to park their car?

There's too much concrete. Honestly, whose bright idea was it to put houses so close together that if there was a fire, it could be devastating to the occupants? I admit Fire is something that seems to spark my concern these days. )( a bit of a pun) Of course if a few buildings were "re-located" then there would be plenty of parking space. ( I knew the lightbulb would flicker.........lol)

I made headway on a knitting project so the trip wasn't completely in vain and the hubby took me to a yarn store after the appointment. That made my day a little bit brighter

Tomorrow is a graduation picnic/party for my niece who's graduating from college. A Big family/friend get-together. Keeping my dpns crossed for sunny weather. I hear it's supposed to rain (again) but we'll still have fun.
So what's on your weekend agenda?

Go Steelers Go!

I am not much of a football fan but when one lives with two avid fans, one soon learns to become "one of them." LOL . I could cheer for the opponent (Ravens) but since I don't know much of what is going on in the first place, I'll just cheer for the favorite in this household crowd. (sounds a lot like the Nov election, doesn't it? )

I'm off to don my black and yellow.
Enjoy the game, Son and DIL!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. Interesting when one can't voice an opinion in America, isn't it?:) What happened to freedom of speech?
